Even though Whistler has a large family contingent, theres no doubting it is a place for those who are young and like to party.  Last night was the New Years Eve bash.

If it hadnt been for the days activities we would have gone down and seen the bands and fireworks, etc.  After sitting in the hospital for the last few hours and all the ups and downs that go with that, turns out we we were a bit exhausted and retired to our room.  (except for Jaylen, she went down and had a wander around)

I stayed home with Piper today.  Her arm was throbbing and shes adjusting to having the cast.

Adam went out in another class and this time because no one was up, think everyones sleeping off the previous evening, the village is like a ghost town.  He booked into his usual class, which is meant to have about 7 people in it, instead he finds hes put in a class of 2 people.  And after a while the other guy leaves the class (think he was still feeling a bit rough) so ends up Adam has a one on one lesson which normally costs $600.  Hes so pleased, had the full attention of the instructor and they even did a black run.  They also went beyond the top of Whistler, if that makes sense?  What they call the 'top' is the top but there is one more lift that goes to the absolute peak where only the hard core go and because he was with an expert, he was able to go up.  So needless to say he had the best day.

After us girls had breakfast, Rieley just wanted to go back to the room and rest.  So Jay and I decided to do the peak 2 peak gondola.  Its a gondola that goes 3.5 km between Whistler and Blackcomb mountains.  It the most stunning thing to do.  I must say personally that Whistler is one of the most beautiful places weve been to.  The trees look like theyve been sprinkled with icing sugar.

Really loving the place were staying in.  Its two bedrooms, marble tops, pewter fitting, fireplaces and views directly onto the Whistler runs.  In the evenings they have a free happy hour with an 'amuse bouche' from the restaurant.  Nice little prelude before you go out for dinner.

The girls finished off the night with a dip in the outdoor hot tub, which sounds like it would be a weird thing to do cause its below zero but its actually really nice to be out in the crisp air.

Ps - The girls are telling me my posts are too long but Im assuring them that people from my generation actually appreciate detail and its not all about short cut communications!
